they love to do that up here. they dig down 40", pour a foot of concrete, block it up to 2 rows above grade, throw the stick wall on top, and float the slab in the middle of it all.
So, for those playing along at home, here's what it looks like @ the proper width of 109". I lost about 7" total of travel once I had the cap back in place. I also snagged a shot of the cool anchors I found to pin it down with. You drill the hole, tap this into place, and then drive the pin into the middle. I put one in last night, I had to drive the pin with my 10lb sledge. But it wasn't going anywhere after that :)
I drilled a hole ~3.5" deep, and I still didn't punch through my slab, so I'm not sure exactly how thick it is, but it's more than 3", which should be good enough for my needs.
Hopefully this whole ordeal is coming to an end, my garage is a complete mess and work is piling up!
