I officially have a car addition. 47 days clean with just the Prius and now this followed my home. Plans include large amount of flake and flames, a new LS7 clutch and Corsa exhaust followed by Stereo. So not GRM but it does have a hitch and it will be the new tow/parts truck.
It is the 6.0 motor and the 6 speed with the 14 bolt rear so it should move out of its own way. Its in Utah so its a fly and drive with a weekend stop in Vegas.
So no Ford GT?
Don't see too many of those around. Neat little buggers.

No title was definitely NOT transferable. But the GT got me into this one. Buddy has both and we too the SSR out for lunch and its a blast. Its fun to drive, the limits are low enough that you feel like your going fast, definite cruiser though. Plus the 6.0 motor has some guts and makes great sounds.
The GT is definitely in the future though. Need to get another 30-40K together or the prices to fall before I can go after one. Or find a killer deal. The SSR does not stop me from getting one in the long run
buddy of mine has a black on black on black SSR... that thing makes ALL the right noises
I was shocked gm actually built these.
I've never seen one in silver. I like the subtlety.
That is not stupid. Those things have got to be somewhat rare. I think the only time I have seen one was out infront of a dealership when they where new.
Same goes for the retro T-birds...
Future collectors item?
I see more t-birds than SSR's. T-bird doesn't have near the motor, either.
The SSR needs something in the headlight/grill area... I can't put my finger on it but it always looks to me like it could be really great looking with a little re-work upfront to undo the vague reference to the 1950s.
Not as rare as you think, they made nearly 20K of the things over the 03-06 period that they built them. The 6 speed as really rare though, there are only 5 for sale in the states right now that I could find. Plus they were only made in 05-06 and almost all of them were black or yellow. To date I have never seen another 6 speed silver for sale.
Still have to decide if I want to just have the thing shipped or fly out. I really need a vacation and a weekend in Vegas would do me wonders its been ~4 year since I had one.
I got production numbers.
So 151 Base trucks build.
IE 1SS package (Deletes heated seats, homelink, memory seats, Bose) I wanted this package as I am going to tear this truck apart.
16.7% were silver.
So were down to 24 Trucks.
22% were manual.
So were down to ~5 trucks build in this configuration over the years. So its rare
Nice car (truck?) My neighbor has a red one that he put his company logo on the doors. If you have to have a company car it might as well be a cool one.

I had a feeling they were rare.. not that rare though.. nice find
Unique, I like it. Do the road trip.
didn't one of the "other mags" do a cross country in a Prowler?

I don;t know if they did but I have. Lots of fun, Prowlers have comfortable seats but terrible air conditioning. 117 as I passed through Vegas, melted my shoes.
Also check was sent out, shipping is confirmed. I am having the truck towed out here. Its cheaper then the airplane ticket and gas. By 100$ and I can use those vacation days to do the little cosmetic repairs that it needs and drop it off for paint.

Oddball choice. I like it. I suspect that with a large amount of flake/flames, it also needs some chrome action. I wonder how the factory grille would looked all shined out.....

Not so Hot. I am going to color match the grill to the flame color and hope that looks ok. The wheels will be chromed at some point or replaced. I have been digging through craigslist for a good set of 20-22' that fit and match the style of the truck.
do they have the same wheel bolt pattern as the new Camaro? despite looking fugly as hell on the Camaro, the 20" wheels they put on those might look good on the SSR.
actually, the base 18" steel wheels they put on the Camaros would look good on it, too..
I think I have a hitch for one of those bouncing around storage somewhere. I'll look for it if you're interested. Should have the socket in the back already.

Tow vehicle? Cool.. i suppose its about the same as towing with a trailblazer SS minus all the extra seats, considering the similarities.. Im all for it

That's crazy. the guy that owns the body shop that does all my paint work has a Silver 6 speed. He bought it new too.
So now we know where 3 of the 5 are.....
Seriously almost 98% of them are full loaded 1SB cars this is a 1SS. Can no one read.

did not know that some of them actually had a decent engine. Though all were 6cyl.
