I think clear packing tape is basically being used as a cheap replacement for peal pile.

So started building the plenum and looking at what space I have to work with. I was going to try and use the foam donuts or rings to build 180 degree runners to help tune the intake and to gain room around the brake booster.

Unfortunately the diameter of the bends for the foam rings was too large and would have hit the hood.

Bolting the plenum to the throttle bodies would have worked, but the plenum would have been pretty pinched around the booster and might have choked off the number 4 cylinder.

With all of that in mind, I hit the local Pick & Pull and found a couple of BMW's with the individual intake tube style intakes with the separate plenum. The intakes tubes are nicely cast and are much smaller in radius, plus they are strong enough to support the weight of the plenum and whatever hoses are needed.

The inline 6 has smaller runners, so I'll save them for another project. The inline 4 has slightly larger runners, so they should work well for the parts on this car.

I'll post up pictures when I get home and set them out. I'm pretty excited about putting this all together! Thanks for all of your help!

Sounds like you have a plan. I never had any good experiences with fiberglass. I like aluminum.More forgiving. The guys at extrudeabody has a tutorial on this project
