If Lieutenant Frank Bullitt drove a Camaro, it might have looked like this:

More pics and info here.

I found the photos while looking for something else. But, still, great color, great wheels.

In reply to David S. Wallens:

Frank would say it had too much badging on it. But it looks excellent.

Dang, that car seems like it was a good deal. I was getting excited then noticed the 2011 date on the ad. ;-)

That interior looks like a nice place to sit in. I dig the exterior too.

I LOVE the early cars with the tall headlights. The headlight tunnels and the slope of the rear roof remind me of a 911. I think they're beautiful.

Great looking car. That sidewall on the tires is something rarely seen these days. The Camaro sure smoked the Mustang in the looks department in the 70s.

Interesting thing is that those old-school American Racing wheels don't look that different from the stock wheels that would have come on a 74 Z28:

(by which I'm just saying that GM really got those early Camaro's right)

Now let's see it side-swipe a huge Mopar and maybe a smokey wheel-hopping burnout.

the 74-77 Camaros are the "ugly ones nobody wants" I see much potential...

Those Crammits seem to be experiencing a resurgence of sorts.

Has a passing resemblance to the Brewster Green 1973 Trans Am from Mc Q. Cool car, pretty fair movie.

Our family car when I was a kid was a 71 Z28, 4.10/4spd. That colour, factory Z rims, which Dad had painted grey.

That's a great looking car.

My neighbor Sally had a '70 bought new in that color w/ dark green interior that I lusted after. Always told her call me first when she was gonna sell. She didn't.

For some reason I had been expecting to see a fourth or fifth gen Camaro done up to compete with the New Edge Bullitt Mustang, which I wouldn't have expected to turn out very well. This second gen, though, totally works.

The Cincinnati list of craigs is full of 2nd gen mullet cars. Im really having dirty thoughts about split-bumper retrofits, fuel injected V8s, and disc breaks all around...

It goes against my very nature to say this, but that car is god-damned fantastic.

I'd love to see that on a 70-1/2 to 73 Camaro. Love that body style. The 74 and on got hit badly with the fugly stick.

I spent much of my youth in Camaros like this. I know from experience the they can take a LOT of abuse. (like flying through the air- type abuse) It's a shame the interiors were so cheap, and those doors weigh about 250lbs a piece! With the Smokey and the Bandit- era Trans Ams getting expensive---- the 74-81 Camaros are sure to bring more $$ too.

They are actually pretty good cars- they can be made to handle well, go fast, and even stop pretty well. They can also be excellent long-distance haulers. I dig em.....especially the one pictured.
