Probably belongs with Duct tape, Crazy Glue and zip ties as one of the primary things that keep gravity in check.
Since I seem to use them in about every car related project at some point they really are indispensable "tools" Yes I consider them tools.
So what did I learn about Bungee Cords you are asking? Don't store a bunch of them in a milk crate! A 5 gal bucket or any other smooth surfaced container is the much better choice. Or even better a piece of 1/4 inch luan with 1 inch holes in it to keep then stretched and not tangled would be best.
The sad part is I keep meaning to change it out of the milk crate. I guess the good is that if the darn thing ever fell over or even out of the truck I bet none of the bungee cords come out of the crate.
So how do you all store them. And I dont mean 1 or 2 of them. I mean when you get the econo pack from walmart that has enough chords to hold the eastern hemisphere in place storage solutions
I keep them in a big gym bag, along with a chain, tow-rope, jumper cables and a trailer lock. Stuffed behind the seats of my pickup.
Sure it's a mess, but if I need something in that bag, I'm probably facing a situation more frustrating than untangling a few knots.
I loved my old truck with the bench seat for storing bungies. The seat back was open, so I just hooked the bungies to the various brackets and springs in the seat back. All neatly stored and untangled.
id use a wire shelf section like you find in old store fixtures. cut it down to a mhe wire anagable size, then pick tthat corresponds to the length of the bungee. its virtually flat, so the storage options are endless.

I just take mine and wrap them with zip ties and duct tape, then to hold it all together use a dab of crazy glue.
I made that up - I use zip ties, glue, and duct tape all the time, but not so much on the bungees.
two old towel racks make good bungee holders..

I used to do that, too.
Ever see bungie cords sitting on the road? I used to see so many, that I decided to stop, and pick up every one that I saw, just to see how many I would get. I did it for a year, and collected well over 50.
I could have gotten more, but I was getting pretty picky near the end.
20-24" piece of 4" PVC works pretty good too. Depending on how many you carry, a bunch of the will slide through the pipe and hook on the ends. Overflow hooks on the outside.

This is brilliant!!!!! Great idea/solution. I could even drill / melt more holes in to it for various sizes.
I stretch them across the steel shelving in my garage, work great to keep the crap on the shelves from jumping off, and keeps the cords neat. At least until i need a cord...
Duct tape, Crazy Glue and zip ties the other three necessities of life, and for the first aid box!
on my old Jeep Cherokee with a safari basket up top, I just had like 10 bungees (various lengths) stretched across the crossbars

Good idea, when you need them a little WD-40 should undue them.
Don't forget the ratchet straps. Another multipurpose tool that no GRMer should be without
I keep about half of my ratchet straps wrapped around the cross bars of my hand trucks. I always have them together when I need the hand trucks. The others are tossed in a plasic grocery bag. Just pull a sizable hand full out and untangle.
