So I'm coming down the wire on the monster (re)build and I have some questions. I'm hoping some of the massive wisdom out there can shed light on some details.
It has an Edelbrock intake and throttle body. Both of which appear to have good sized vacuum fittings. The PCV valve isn't hooked to anything. And I'm not sure where to hook up the brake booster.
Second. The cooling fans each have a black wire and a blue wire coming out. There are a pair of matching wires near the radiator area.....but there are also two larger red wires that go to the aftermarket fan controller on the firewall what the mechanic who took it apart said controlled the fans.
Third. The timing chain cover I bought on Amazon appears to have an opening in the side of it (inspection port?) but didn't come with a plate to screw over it. Anyone have any thoughts on that?
Thanks in advance, this build has been interesting. My son has REALLY grown into a helpful and interested young man throughout.
Hook pcv and brake to direct manifold vacuum. Post details about fans and controller.
Cant help with timing chain cover

Are you speaking of the fuel pump mount? There is a blocking plate you can buy or it's a five minute job to make one.
In reply to NOHOME : yup, that's it. Thanks.
My attempt at fabricating a block off plate. The only aluminum stock I had laying around is like 1/2" thick.
Found the spring and clip that keeps the throttle cable on the ball. Yay!
The fan controller. It appears the two red wires coming off the bottom of it run to the blue wires on the cooling fans. The black wires on the fans I believe ground to the chassis. (?)
Still getting there, more questions.
The oil fill tube has a vacuum sized bung on it's side that was blowing crank "smoke" it seems like it should be fed back to the intake but maybe not?
The throttle body has a small leak around the pivot shaft and whistles. Is there a fix for this (Edelbrock part)?
This is EFI with a MAF, right? On my 302, the fill tube barb connects to a barb on the throttle body, right before the butterfly. At first I tried connecting it to the air intake tube about 12 inches before the throttle body, but that wasn't the best. I don't know why, but I was getting oil buildup in the intake tube, but I don't get oil buildup in the throttle body.
Also, PCV valve connects to the intake manifold. Intake manifold has a few extra barbs so I use two for connections to the brake booster and the fuel regulator. If I didn't have those extra barbs, I would just put a couple Ts in the line from the PCV to the intake manifold.
Crankcase ventilation is fairly simple. A full vacuum source controlled by a PCV valve vented to the crankcase above the oil level and a fresh air source opposite of the vacuum source.
