I didn't get through all the posts, so forgive me if this has been mentioned already. Weber State's John Kelly did a youtube video on the model S drive unit and he mentions where they have had issues. It's been a while since I watched it, so I don't recall the details. It's a great video to watch to learn about the unit in general and maybe help you decide what you want to do going forward.
