I haven't checked the sales reports, but from my subjective observation, the mini - crossovers aren't selling that well. For a few thou more, the next level gives you so much more usefulness and available power. I'd never consider a CX-3, but would love to have a 5.
One styling thing that I first really noticed on Nissans, is that the wide-track, flared look gives a nice sporty look, but at the expense of interior space. That's why, while I like sporty lines, I am also attracted to the visual honesty and utility of a Soul, Element, or other box-shaped vehicle as opposed to the C-HR or such.

Something like that. I know that the average age of a Scion buyer when it went defuct was higher than the average age of an Oldsmobile owner at the time of it's demise. "Youth" brand, indeed.
