🤔 I'm getting bad thoughts. Decided to not watch it all the way through. 🤣

My first ever autocross was done in a Mercury Grand Marquis, and when I pulled up to tech the guy working that day was so confused.  The only thing he asked me to do was remove the hub caps, which indeed would have been flying off the car.  Its not the only time I've used the wrong kind of car for an event, and every time I end the day with a face hurting from laughter.

Three guys in front seat cause of bench seat?

Better is one guy sat in back and smoked cigarettes the whole time.

I think I need a Cadillac.

What a beautiful car, I hope they were able to find the lost hubcap.

Did you notice his previous video, with a 1969 Ford Ranchero?  That car did surprisingly well, especially since it has manual drum brakes and manual steering.

If the DeVille is anything like my Eldorado, there are cigarette lighters all throughout the car. He picked the right vehicle for a smoke. That's all I'm saying.

I've got a 66 Sedan De Ville with a bad motor and a spare high compression 472 under the workbench. The thought of making a proper racecar out of it has been floated.

A couple brothers in our club autocrossed a Plymouth Reliant because it was free and fun.

They weren't the fastest but they were really consistent. It was so bad that you always knew exactly what the car was going to do.

They bracket raced the stupid thing too, did really well.

Hmm ... a Plymouth Reliant you say. Maybe I shouldn't save the one in my family for Concours d'Lemons. laugh

Sadly, despite all the Blackwings, IMSA and Le Mans programs, this is what people think of when they hear "racing Cadillac."

It is a lot of fun to drive something that isn't suited to track use on a track, but only for a little bit. Notice that all three guys in the Caddy were laughing it up at the start of the lap, but not so much at the end.

I autocrossed (one fun run) a 1966 Dodge Polara that was destined for a demo derby (but that's a story for another time, ha ha), and that was also kind of hilarious. But once was enough.

To be fair, that's one looooong lap!
