Whiskey is usually a good decision. Except fireball. I don't know why that E36 M3 is popular, but it has no reason to be.
You guys want good? The Ron Swanson Manhattan. Shot o' rye whiskey, shot of sweet vermouth, two dashes of bitters, and garnish with a stick of bacon.
I was on a big Manhattan kick last year, sort of lost it for me lately. I'm thinking about switching to aged rum, for some reason. I dunno, maybe that's just the whiskey talking.
Single malt scotch's for 20 years. Not going to change it up now....
Although a properly prepared G&T on a hot day is a wonderful thing.

I keep it around for adding to Redd's or hard cider and for putting into root beer. It gives it a cough syrup taste that I can't help but like.
Proper preparation is
Jigger of good gin 2 teaspoons sugar and a quarter of a lime put in a tall glass. Mash the lime and mix the sugar in to the gin. Fill the glass with ice and top off with tonic water. Stir and garnish with a thin slice of lime.
That reminds me. Try 6 ounces of fresca mixed with 6 ounces of ocean spray cran grape. Add a jigger of good vodka and with serve with ice or make it in a martini shaker and strain the ice out in to a chilled martini glass. Very yummy summer cocktail.

I meant to practice my gin drinking in Indy. I got lost in the beer and porn aisle. Best liquor store ever

I tend to go with the "let's get blasted" version.
Take a half bottle of gin. Slice up a whole lime. Stuff lime into gin bottle. Fill rest of bottle with tonic water. Very gently mix.
Pour over ice.
Best if two bottles are consumed in one "session."
