Calling out to the grassroots guys in Fort Worth area

Hey Guys,

I need some assistance from the grassroots guys in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I unfortunately am having to replace my SAAB 9000 after an altercation with a fence and downed tree. I've been hunting high and low for an '04 GTO in my area to replace the SAAB but have not had any luck. I did however find a one in the DFW area and was hoping I could get one of you guys to go look at this car for me and tell me if it's worth the trip. I've been trying to find a Cosmos Purple one for a while and this looks like a decent deal.

I called the lot and spoke to a guy named Joe at the lot and he stated that if I wanted it inspected he had no issues with that. Link to Site So if anyone wants to go drive a GTO and give me a report I would greatly appreciate it.

Outstanding! It would be much appreciated. I have bought several cars and motorcycles sight unseen off ebay before but nothing above $3k before. So I'm a little hesitant to get a buyers order for it yet.

Probably won't be until Friday morning until I can go check it out. I'll give you a call this evening.

I literally just drove by this lot. I wish you'd have posted before I left the house. I tried to call them and the phone number "does not go thru". I'll be going by there a little later this afternoon or just before lunch tomorrow.

EDIT: Hmmmm that was odd. I couldn't call that number from my land line but I could from my cell phone.

Anything in particular you'd like to look at or check out?

Basically just checking to make sure the running gear is in good condition, brakes, no syncro issues with the transmission, rear end noises, oil smoke form exhaust or puddles under the car

Also what condition the tires and interior trim is in along with the exterior trim.

Basically if it's a solid car and is worth what they are asking.

I don't mind more than one opinion so if you want to go back and test drive it please do!

A side thought. You may want everyone to check out the car and get various opinions, but, you do not want the dealer to think each guy is individually interested in the car. The price will stay high if the car seems to be drawing a lot of attention.
On the other hand, if each shopper finds a fault with the car it may help to drive the price down.

Yeah that is a good point, just tell him that your looking at the car for the guy in Tennessee. anything to make it cheaper for me is a plus. The insurance gave me $4k for the SAAB (RIP) so I'll be footing the bill for the rest.

Cool dude, I went and test drove a Blue 04 here in my area and they want $13,500 for theirs. So I'd much rather get this one even though it has 20k more miles, it's the color I want.

A very good friend of mine went to look at that car for himself last week. His opinion was it had been neglected and rode hard and put away wet.

Yeah I spoke with btp76's friend who went and looked at the vehicle. His report was to not walk, but run away from this one. "Rode hard and put away wet" to coin the term.
