I spent the night in the stands waiting for a 10. I was bummed too see the track deteriorating and his times getting slower. It was pretty clear that he and the car both had it in them.
PROUD POPPA X 2! WAY TO GO....ACORN DOESN'T FALL FAR FROM THE TREE.![laugh laugh](https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/static/ckeditor/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.png)
Excellent. Our season is done, so I won't be hitting my goal until spring

WooHoo!
While others in Gainesville were watching the timer to see Calvin's times, I was looking the other way at Andrew standing at the start line. I figured if Fuzzy ran a 10, I'd see it just as easily in Poppa's reaction as I would see on the clock.
Happy for the Nelson's- wish I was there! ![smiley smiley](https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/static/ckeditor/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)

I guess that's what happens when I haven't actually gone this year.
And not paying attention.

It made the ride home longer. Track conditions were not good in Gainesville. They were a little better tonight.
103.87 in the eight showed it was making power. 126.75 was banging on the rev limiter. Two changes are planned. Less gear and more intercooler.
Congrats, I remember how proud you were when they were just part of your build team, so this is really special.
Question- you grew up as a drag racer until you came to the Challenge. All of your kids have been involved a little more in the auctocross aspect. Have you noticed a lean to that at all?

Yes. That is correct.
Does that mean 8s are in the cards if conditions were perfect? That would be amazing!!!

No. Need a gear change and 50 more HP.
Also, I did a burn thru to get onto my own rubber.

Thanks for all the support guys. It was quite the pass. I knew as soon and I went into 3rd gear so early it was on a good pass. Once I hit the rev limitter a second before the end of the track, I knew it was a 10.
I came around to get my time slip, and the guy at the ticket booth was lagging a little bit. Finally, he said to me, "they keep getting your number wrong", still not handin me my timeslip. I said to him, "oh well, as long as I know which lane I'm in that's fine", while thinking in my head, "JUST GIVE ME MY TIMESLIP, PLEASE!" He stood there for a few more seconds (felt like minutes) and said, "well you'll have to take it up with the guys at the starting line." Finally he handed me the time slip and I let out a cheer. I drove back to the trailer and dad was very happy as you can imagine. It was quite the evening, and I didn't even mention the 11.01 pass I had earlier in the evening.

I think my dad may have missed your question. I think my brother and I are both drag racers at heart. I can say I have an interest in autocross, and hill climb in the future, but I will always love drag racing.
It is a common measuring stick. When I say, I've gone 10's, it means something to everyone. That's what I like about it. It is a scientific test of a cars performance. With autocross you have to get a bit more creative to see if your changes have made a difference because the track changes from weekend to weekend. In drag racing, all you have to do is go to the track and see.
I hope that doesn't come across as knocking it. My dad and I have plans for our future in autocross.
