I know it was never sold here, but I was wondering if the last generation MR@ could be brought into Canada?
I think there is a 15 year old clause where anything over that age can be brought in, but the oldest MR2 Mk 3 is only a 2000, so a ways to go if that is the case.
I just finishing up a bugeye sprite restoration that will be sold to free up some toy car capital, and this looks like a cool set of wheels. I already did the Miata thing for 13 years and really liked it.

I think so: it was banned originally, but I think it's back in. Check riv.ca for the list: it changes, so be sure it's on when you're about to bring it over.
Do you mean the MR Spyder? If so there are three for sale in Ontario, so I guess they can be (or the person who buys them will be very disappointed when they go to register them).

Yep they can be brought in. They didn't use to be able to be imported legally, but when the federal government got rid of the bumper requirement, they were one of the cars that could now come over. If they were a little cheaper, I'd buy one just to have something different than my trio of miatas
Good to know. I see lots of them in the states for 12-15k. They look like a good car to have on the bucket list. Would be fun to make a road trip out of buying one in the south and drive it home.
Not sure if the local Toyota dealer would be supportive if it needed maintenance, but who cares?
