Looking at a 2003 AstroVan with "only" 84,000 miles on it ,

Just seems too low and maybe it has some "history'  I need to know before buying it

Thanks for your help

I think that's a plausible number for that type of vehicle if it was only used for carrying the whole family to things the whole family needed to go to. Hopefully someone here can help you out.

Around Southern California most of the full size vans from the early 2000s have 200k -300k on them.

So this van is averaging about 5000 a year or 100 miles a week and no big trips....

Just seems low and condition is not of a well taken care of van.

I've bought Carfax and Autocheck reports for $7-8 off ebay. When you buy the repost include the VIN in the purchase message and you will have them in hand within an hour or so.

It's not impossible.  I just bought a 1994 Mazda with a real 88k on it.

My ex has a 2001 Impala with only 78K on it. Shes out of town a lot so it sits for long periods of time.

Some people just dont take care of their stuff. You can look at pedal wear etc and get a good idea of the miles.

Also, You can look at the VIN in the DMV Smog database and it will give you the smog history of the car.
