And the crazy part was I was thinking about this thread the other day.
Since this thread came back to life, I'll contribute. I learned to drive a manual on my Dad's '77 C10 with the 250 ci straight six and a three on the tree. The motor had plenty of torque and pulled well, but the enormous gap between 2nd and 3rd really let the truck down.

No new news. I never bought the truck. He wanted too much for it. I wanted to offer him $500 for it, but he was pretty firm at $1800. It's not even worth that. It needs brake lines, tune up, and the body is rusting through on all the typical places on a late 70's Chevy.
