You know that foamy rubber seal stuff on quarter windows, doors, trunklids, etc. -- the kind that's bonded to some vinyl, which you then attach to the car body? Like this:

What I want to know is if, after years of being pressed against and now permanently flattened, can this stuff somehow be rejuvenated so it's round again? Hot water maybe?

Or should I suck it up and shell out to a dealer for a couple new ones?

I've soaked it in armor all and gotten more life out of it.

Try snaking some thin walled clear tubing inside it.

Sweet; thanks for the suggestions. Think I'll try the chemical route first and, if I get no love, snake in some hose or backer rod.

I wish I could remember the stuff we used for making cables. It was yellow and there was a #7 involved.. but it started out as a lubricant that turned into a glue as it dried. Seems it would be perfect for slipping tubing inside those
