not for that hunk of crap. a 280? really? don't waste your time.

If it's solid, then it's a decent price for a project.
Man, if I had the room, I'd LOVE to have an old project Z.
Flares, drop, Watanabes--oh, I'd be in heaven.
Seems a fair price if the rust is limited to only what's depicted, and if it runs as good as he says it does.
Like Gamby said, drop it on some old school JDM wheels, then rock it as is
I wouldnt pay over half that for that car, it looks pretty nasty. You can get a 240z for $1500 thats in better shape than that.
OH jeez, you guys are laughable! If that car does indeed run and drive well, it is easily worth at least $1,000. The pix aren't great, but the body looks pretty straight and not much rust, but I can weld so the few places that are rusted don't scare me. A little time sanding it down and one coat of primer would make the car look 1000 times better. It's just paint. I bet that if it had a nice clean paint job and a blown engine the general attitude would be different. Hardly deserves being labeled a hunk of crap.
that is my general feeling on all 280z's. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. a 260 is pushing it, but a 240 would be awesome. as they got older, Nissan/Datsun ruined them.
It is just a personal feeling, not everyone will agree with me, but I just don't like 280's. they are heavier, and the engines are "worse". I would just rather have a 240 for that money.

We're not laughable, we're cheapskates, Luckily Tim, Margie, Per, and JG and labeled us the much more cosmopotlian "Grassroots"
That's relatively steep. It reminds me of my AE92, but with more rust and painted with inconsistent colors.

I got a spare bedroom, come on out, drive her home.

the majority of the weight gain is removable, and the weight added to the chassis was much needed to improve the stiffness of the chassis, the early cars are abotu as rigid as a wet cardboard box, nothing wring with the 280's except the bumpers and injection, slap on some tripples or megasquirt, ditch the heavy bumpers, and enjoy seats that you can tip forward to access the rear, oh and the 77-78 got better rear brakes
and you never know what you'll get with a 260, the made more changes tthrough out the corse fo that year than anyone would have considered practical
