Bought an old truck where the antenna mast was ripped off and the remainder is rusted down into the housing. First shot with an ez-out didn't get it. Other than ignoring the situation or getting behind the fender to remove the assembly, is it possible to try to retap the hole or will this be a futile exercise?
Short answer, no. You'll have to replace the whole antenna.
I'd say it's worth a try if you can get a good angle on it.
My concern would be that there might not be enough material to tap it the original size.
