The FX16 needs a new brake master cylinder. The current one lasted only 5 years. Thought I would bite the bullet and go OEM, but no longer available.
So I'm forced to aftermarket again. According to my records, the current one was sourced from Autozone.
RockAuto has the following brands. Any experience with these and which one would you pick?
Cardone: CarDONE?
Centric
Raybestos
Dorman
Beck/Arnley: reviews look like quality is spotty as they source from others remans.
Aimco: Might be Raybestos parent
Guardian/One Source
I've used a lot of Centric hydraulic parts and haven't had any failures. I've had Cardone and Dorman stuff fail right out of the box before. YMMV.
Go Centric.
I guarantee the Cardone will be crap, and there's a 95% chance the AUtoZone one you put on is a Cardone.
so what you are saying is Use Cardone and your car is DONE!
CENTRIC it is. Thanks for your comments!
I have experience with CarDONE, which is why I spell it like that.
Found the Toyota OEM brake master cylinder on a website, but it would be over $500.
Ordered the Centric brake master cylinder from RockAuto with shipping for $52.
