I think that anyone doing anything truly unique or original gets such an onslaught of criticism and negative attention that it's not worth it for those few of us who really have original ideas to bring them to life.

Why the 818 was a great thread to read and watch the designs. There was a sedan that some one submitted in that thread that I thought was absolutely spectacular.

Lowriders are coming back? Sick.

That very well might be true. berkeley it. Do it. I wish I had the extra cash to find a $500 beater and do it up the way I'd like so everyone can tell me what a E36 M3box it is and how I've ruined it.

I remember seeing a "rat rod" 911 at some point and everyone I know saying it was "blasphemy" and how the owner had "ruined a classic." I thought it was great and an amazing contrast to your average 911 owner. I'll see if I can find some pictures.

Found pictures.

I'd like to say that I don't think everything has to be completely and utterly different, nor that trends are inherently a bad thing. There's just a point where things get too cookie cutter. This car obviously has that whole "VW patina" thing going on, but I think it better executed than a Golf with mesh wheels and the paint sanded off the hood.

Not bad, I'd raise it 2", fix the camber, turn the speakers into fridge magnets, and rock that in a minute.

So, a black 88 Turbo Coupe with the paint wet sanded over the top half of it, and slightly patina'ed sides, at stock stance on stock wheels...

I may have bought the car that transforms me into a Shiny Happy Person?

I agree on too low. Maybe I'm a grumpy old man at heart, but I like suspension travel. Currently undoing a 3" drop on the girlfriend's ride, and all the damage that it's caused.

For me I see anything older with greater than 17" wheels as obscenely oversized, lol. . Some newer cars the way they are designed look like 15s or 14s looked back in the 90s. Mustang comes to mind. The 19" that come on my car look perfectly matched.

I hate stanced, pink or whatever wheels, overapplication of "JDM" E36 M3, etc. I'm going to "jdm" my skyline but that to me means Power FC, Blitz intercooler, early 90s 3 piece forged Nismo wheels, and Apexi exhaust. Not covering it in weaboo stickers with an absurd alignment and stretched tires.

Even more boring than tuner mags and tuner mag readers doing the same thing to their cars are manufacturers making several of their cars look almost the same so when they are tuned, they will look more cookie cutter than they do now.

I'm a big fan of the 14" wheel. I like sidewall, lots of sidewall. Sidewall FTW even.

I want my Corvair to look unique, but with limitations on wheels and that everything has been done to LM Corvairs, it's hard to be unique. The combination of the customizations is what will set it apart from others.

Aside from the windshield sticker, I think this is very cool. Also, put a Porsche flat 6 in it. haha.

14s are nice on 80s and earlier cars but i don't like how they look on 90s. It's a nice classic car wheel size. 90s cars had big enough brakes tho where idk what you could fit 14s on aside from compacts.
