I understand CF is not ideal for what I plan to do but:
I want to learn to work with this stuff, and don't want to worry about structural importance before I figure it out.

As for sg vs. .. CF requires significantly less material for equal strength, so the plastic trim pieces can be made significantly thinner, thus saving weight. And I will make it way way thinner than needed as strength is not needed.
Ideally, weaved colored fiberglass would be the perfect material; ability to save some weight by making it thinner while giving the CF look, but I don't roll like that..
I'm gonna fiddle with the e-bay cloth, and order some nice resin from the quality stores! If it turns out acceptable, I might even share pictures!
