Anyone else going? I prepaid to do the autocross Saturday afternoon (2pm session #2), and plan to be there a few hours early to hang out, relax and take in the sights. Another SCCA friend is either following or meeting me there (depending on the route he takes versus mine).

I'd do the track event if I hadn't already done their Track Acclimation program, the TNiA at Putnam recently, and plan to do a PDX at Mid Ohio in October.

Just curious if I'll see any familiar faces (usernames). Linky link

I was going to do the hpde but Saturday is typically a rough day for me and it turns out there's an evening track day September 8th that's much better for me schedule wise. SO! I'm going to do that, but might be able to come up and check out Carfest instead, with my little girl in my arms. She would like that. I'll see what I can figure out.

We should email each other our phone numbers, so we can meet up at the track. I figure it's going to be big enough to be difficult to happen upon each other, GRM shirt or no. Email me at my user name at gmail dot com.

In reply to dculberson:

Will do later. Another friend is there now doing the track event. (I was pretty sure I wouldn't be the only GRM'er there.)

General admission is pretty cheap if you have a few hours to just hang out.

And totally forgot to do that. Realized it as I was getting out of the car and talking to my friend that followed me up...

The autocross was fun, parade lap and 3 consecutive runs, very short, very turn-y. My best was a 27.7 and my friend beat me by half a second, but we seemed to be in line with the other FWD cars anyway. Two Caterhams tore that course up.

Saw another Abarth and talked to him in his garage for awhile, another guy asked me about mine after just buying one the day before. (I gave him a hat I won at the Dragon event in April)

Then I got to sit in this Ferrari 458 race car. My friend had been drooling over it all day, I finally asked the owner if he could sit in it if I paid him $5. The owner (super cool laid back rich guy drinking a beer) said "haha go ahead, jump in". There was a cartoon smoke trail where my friend used to be. I took a dozen photos, then decided WTH I'll jump in. Cool friendly rich car guys are the best rich car guys.
