The show is truly dead, eh?

Here it is, about to start in a few hours, and not one message about it. No questions about who is going, where to meet (besides the GRMS tent) or even a peep to say GRMS is going to be there with a tent this year.

Sigh, it used to be such a good event.

Saturday is the best day to go. Not too hard to find the GRM tent in what has become a pathetic swap meet area, but it's in the first full row off the grandstand about halfway down on the left unless they moved it.

You'll likely see my Mini there tomorrow.

Would love to go one year but this year I am off to work at CMP, it's a little closer and thus a little cheaper trip.

Our Lemons car is still going back together, but I'll be there tomorrow.

I looked into going a few weeks ago for the swap meet, but parking down there seems so stupid. It literally suggests on their website that you may be able to park on some local's lawn, and he may charge you. Really? You guys own a big field, can't you make some of it parking?

On-site parking is available for the import show but it is always dependent on the event's popularity and vendor/participant/visitor volume. I doubt you'd have problems with finding parking within the gates.

Lawn parking is a local cottage industry; I've attended four or five events at Carlisle and marveled at how many vehicles cover what were once pristine yards. Rates might be cheaper but you'll have a bit of a hike to reach the show and swap meet areas. One plus for parking outside is not having to deal with all the inside vehicle and pedestrian traffic hassles.

Chryslers at Carlisle was the one show I'd never miss when I lived up that way. A buddy of mine's daughter is getting married in DC next weekend...I was so bummed we couldn't have an excuse to drive up and do the Import car show and the wedding all at once. We can only make one trip...so we're missing the car show. I know...sad choices. ;-)

Parking at the Import show isn't a problem. In the rare instance you can't park on the grounds, you can simply park on the street about a block from the car show entrance and walk up. Actually, if you want to stick it to Carlisle Productions you can do that anyway.

Can't wait to see what they gouge me to park on the show field this year. (Yes, I'm bitter. Going to this show since it's inception and watching it wither away why the prices keep skyrocketing does that to you).

Just got back from the show, and will be there again tomorrow. I'm in vendor spot A57, right up the lane from GRM/Classic on the other side of the isle. Talked with most of the GRM gang today.

This is the first year we're vending at the show. Not sure if we'll do it again next year. The price for one spot isn't bad. Sold some today, but not enough to justify the gas/tolls/space yet.

There was plenty of parking for spectators. Don't see why there wouldn't be tomorrow.

Admission to the show is $8. If they are charging for on-site parking it's probably another $5.

I saw obvious cars heading to Carlisle on my way down from NJ to the Jefferson 500 at Summit Point (about 90 minutes south of you guys).

We have a fair amount of spectators here (I think it's $10 and parking is free).

Had a nice chat with Peter Brock yesterday (he's driving our Cobra Daytona Coupe pace-car). Weather is great here and looks good in Carlise too.

I've always wanted to attend this event and I actually passed through Carlisle at noon yesterday on my way home from Florida (took the family to see the mouse). Unfortunately, I couldn't stop, as an extra night on the road with the berkeleying loved ones was simply not an option at that point.

I did discover, however, that Carlisle is exactly four hours from my house. I'm always on the lookout for a restorable Lotus Elan. If anyone happens to see one for sale there and can snap a couple of pics, I'd appreciate it. I wouldn't be opposed to hooking up the trailer and heading back down that way. I could use a (solo) road trip...
