Full disclosure: This company bought some ads from us. But we have a good enough separation of church and state between advertising and editorial that I learned about it from those ads and decided to download the app a few days ago.

And I like it enough to recommend it here. Basically, it makes a list of your cars and easily records when you drive them and what you do to them. It's clearly still new and they're clearly still zeroing in on exactly what features people want, but I've always longed for a reliable way to remember when I accidentally let a car sit for three months without driving it, or when that same neglected car in the back of the garage is due for an oil change but I never remember until I try to drive it. This app seems to solve my problem way better than a notepad and masking tape reminders on the steering wheel.

It's a free app, and you can download it here.

I've tried a few apps like this and haven't been happy with them for one reason or another. I'll certainly give this one a shot!

I test drove* a 128i from a private seller. He claimed to do his own maintenance and showed me the carfax app where he had recorded those services including photos. I use a text file in a drop box folder for each car so it was a higher level of sophistication for sure. He also claimed the app "reported" his self performed services to Carfax. That seemed interesting but I never tried to verify if it was correct. Anybody know for sure? It would be nice to have some reminders in an app for things like tire rotation.

* reported 10k OCI + leaking valve cover and oil filter housing + lemon law buyback all convinced me to keep looking

I have self-reported oil changes to Carfax for a few years now.

It DOES prompt periodic (annual in my case) service reminders via email - "Your Borgward is due for oil change".

It DOES NOT show up as service performed in the Carfax report, unfortunately.

You'll need to log in to post.
