I have been tasked with updating the wiper system in a car with this butterfly/opposed/sequential wiper system. Can anyone think of a relatively modern donor car that uses this style of motion?
Heavily curved glass makes it difficult to go with the normal method of wiper action
How modern? All of the various GM minivans from the late 1900's thru 2009

Minivan! Perfect! I never would have guessed.
Gracias Gentlemen
If you feel like writing the program, Escapes have individual wiper motors electronically synchronized, in that configuration.
How hard can it be?
Chevy Lumina. I think the sedans were the same also
Not that type on Dodge Grand Caravans
Honda Civics.
I notice because uit is a feature of my Opel.

In reply to John Welsh :
The previous-gen "egg" Caravans had them:
I came to say Lumina. I had one for a long time and those wipers were great.

2013+ Ford Escape
They, and the Focus it is based on, doesn't have wiper linkage. It has stepper motors and position sensors. Key off, you can move them freely and independently. Key on, they will automatically raise/lower themselves to their park position no matter where they were placed.
In reply to Pete. (l33t FS) :
How troublesome are the ford stepper motor sets? And how small? Position the sensors and build what seems to me to be a small control board. Should be near universal solution.

Ford Fusion from 2013 up as well but similar components to the Focus and Escape systems mentioned previously.

They always just "work". At least, I've never seen an issue.
It seems like it's an overcomplicated solution, but they don't have wiper linkage to bend/break the first time someone uses the wipers to try to clear heavy snow. Or the first time eight inches thick of dense wet snow slides off of the roof at a stoplight and hits the wipers.
So, +10 points for idiotproofness, -90 points for idiotproofness

Was gonna say '02 Pontiac Montana, if that's close enough to modern...although in my experience they sometimes like to slip off the side of the entire windscreen which can scratch the A-pillar.
