I have a serious itch to get into LeMons or ChumpCar but just don't have a circle of friends who would be interested or able to do it as well.
As such I openly ponder who else may be game. I hope to actively recruit AnsonIvan so we can go ahead and mark him down as he has no choice.
Thoughts? Hopes? Dreams? Pointless blather?
Its awesome!
My team (Ghetto motorsports) has two vehicles based in different parts of the country. We have a 78 chevy malibu in teh Pittsburgh area and an 80 Mazda RX7 in the Denver area.
If you wanted to come along and help / observe for the spring race in Michigan that would be okay with us.
Also, I may be able to point you in the correct direction to get parts, people, etc...
Good Luck! It is a good time!
P.S. Check out the 24hours of Lemons forums. There are teams on there that usually need drivers.

Interested, must be an Italian car to ensure eventual fire and ultimate hilarious failure.
I might be interested, but I'm in northeast Ohio. If the team somehow gets formed within a reasonable distance of me, then I'd be interested. And if needed, I have a full heated and air conditioned shop, with a lift and everything else needed to build a car.
I'm interested if it is an Italian car.
I've got a crew cab dually I'll donate to the effort! Is it legal?

I have also been contemplating putting together a team. I have several cars that could be a good start for the car and would love to hook with other grm'ers on this. I have a BMW 528e that runs but is an auto, wrecked but not bad I have $227 in that one. I have a 94 Corsica ugly 4cyl automatic but I only have $79 in it. I also have a 72 lemans with a 350 in it but I have $400 in it so probably not enough budget left to make that one work. I also have a rusty 73 240 Z with a four speed that I have $250 in and all the parts to make it run, would be a good v8 swap. I am in the Cambridge Ohio area. I may have other possible donor cars but those are the ones I can think of right now.
I have a lift if we want to work on the car at my place or I can do the work but I do not have a tubing bender for the cage and my welding skills are questionable. Harnesses and racing seat can be borrowed from my $2011 Challenge car. Unfortunately the Ohio event is the same weekend as the $2011 Challenge so I can't drive in that race but can travel to the other races.
Lets put something together this could be awesome.

Chump Car has an event at Beaver Run in Wampum, PA. This is between Youngstown and Pittsburgh so from Cambridge, OH this would really be very little farther than Nelson Ledges.

I don't mind traveling for the races, I just won't be available forth Nelson Ledges race as I will be in Florida that weekend. I had looked at the Chicago and Detroit area races as well. Unfortunately I do not have any Italian cars to donate for the cause I have mostly domestic and Datsun. We should set up a meeting time. I can bring pictures of the cars I have to donate or we could plan what Italian car we want to burn up in. I keep thinking of other possible cars I have (I have a mini junk yard). Two and four wheel drive Amigos, 2wd S-10, 84 New Yorker, 2004 Saturn SL1 the list keeps growing but still no Italians.

The Italian (Hand)job.
Bribing the judges could get a little messy.

Something Italian is not gonna be real easy.
Sadly I fear a team name and theme may be harder than finding the car.

Do want convertible!
I wanna weld the doors shut so I can stuff my double extra hillbilly arse into the car from the top side!
I have a line on a lightly wrecked Miata but thats very not italian. Maybe if we just did some fanciful body work and had some big money interior pieces added on but poorly installed to make it look like they were falling out?

You guys have no idea how badly the Lemons judges want to see a TC run, nobody has had the balls to bring one... I say do it, all that eye-talian style, with K car parts availability, what could possibly go wrong?

That feels like a dare!
Maybe we should all dress up like Mario Cart racing characters?

That is because it is! I would love to see a TC out on the track, or perhaps a Buick Reatta, Cadillac Allanté, or Merkur Scorpio (when was the last time you saw one of those)
