If I have purchased something within the limits of the budget, and trade parts for other parts (recoup is maxed out), is this within the spirit and letter of the law? This involves a full Miata divetrain that I am looking at buying to just get the diff, but I know that I can trade the engine and tranny for some other things that I would like to get for the car.
Darn it, just found it under rule 16. Now to find a new avenue.
If your budget includes a line item that reads:
"Miata Torsen Diff: Stolen. $0.00"
I'll buy you a beer.

this is one rare instance where i believe the letter and the spirit do not line up.
Rule 16:
Once the recuperation limit has been reached on a car or parts deals, trading is not allowed.
i read that and I think, why is there a chronological limit on my trades? so i always make sure to keep at least $1 in recoup available in the budget, then trades are never limited.
yes, i friggin' rock. and yes, there's at least one challenge rule specifically created for my interpretation of previous rules.

Would he have to show his court costs in the budget?
