I'm not interested in doing the Challenge, but here's my thoughts on why I thought this might be a good candidate.
1 it already has the beginnings of some sort of Challenge style livery which would save someone a good bit of time and possibly a little money.
2 it already has some of the safety equipment. I realize that safety equip is outside of the Challenge budget, but it's definitely still within the real pocketbook budget so saving some money & time there might make it doable for someone.
3 There is already some suspension work and I believe some chassis bracing which could put someone way ahead in the build.
Yes the interior is a mess, but if that's the only mess you've got to fix, once again you would be ahead of the game.
4 No engine. Yes, I think that's a plus since that leaves it wide open for whatever you've got laying around or can find cheap. It leaves the door wide open for another cheap, boring mustang engine or maybe a home for that helicopter jet turbine you have lying around. You know you've been dying to do a turbine mustang, or better yet I'll bet you can find a good RX8 engine that someone pulled out to do an LS swap and you can get that for cheap, cheap, cheap.
Think of how that would make you score in the engineering department!!!!
I hope that price will is negotiable. Seems like not enough car for the money for challenge purposes unless you can get a free motor. There is not much to sell off to recoup so that to me makes it a less than optimal challenge car. Now all that said depending the cadge quality that could be a really good starting point for chump car.

These don't exist. People are practically giving away virchally perfect Rx8s that need motors. I have never heard of someone pulling a good rennisis or to put a LS In.
Also this should have been posted in the 2017 challenge section. It would probibly got more eyes with cash in hand.
dean1484 you might be a little too literal for the internet.
These kinds of understanding come about because GRM doesn't give us a sarcasm font. We definitely need one in the next upgrade of the forum
Here's another good one. Good because of the ad.
Ya gotta love Facebook Groups
Learn To Be A Mechanic! 1995 Bmw V8
1995 BMW 540i , starts, runs a drives in forward gears only. Reverse is not working. Just think of all the fun you will have when you tell your friends to get out and push me back! You can't go to Auto Zone and have them read the codes in this beauty because it's a 1995 model which was the final year before OBD2 became standard. Yes, this is for all the people that like to bitch about todays cars being so complicated. Maybe you don't want to fux it and instead are looking for a parts car. No, I'm not selling parts. $600. and you get the WHOLE car! Thinking of entering it into the 24 hours of lemmons race? The rules state the car can't cost more than $500. I'll sell it for that much! Bring a wrecker to tow it home because the tickets for expired inspection, tags and no insurance will cost more than the whole car!
