So I find myself in a pickle. We are dragging our Challenge car to Florida on a 16' trailer. I would like to bring it back to MO when we are done to use as an engine donor. However, I am likely going to need to pick up a 10' box on the way home. This likely needs to occupy the same space as the car. I am looking for ideas on how to get both home in the one trip.
One idea is to find a 24' goose neck but I am coming up short.
Another is the take all the important bits from the challenge car (engine, trans, etc...) and pull them and throw them in the bed of the truck. Has anyone done this before at the end of the challenge?
I am very open to alternative ideas.
So remove the engine/trans and sell the chassis? What kind of car is it?
What sort of car? I have a big yard....
10` box?
Is that a 10' box trailer or just a box?
If box, can the box be opened and some of the contents go in the car?
It is a 92 Lexus LS400 with some goodies. The chassis is going to have a few, uh, holes... Likely only good for scrap but it would be free to a local scrap hound! I would happily leave the mostly intact car in FL (with engine) but the wheels and some parts would have to come home and I would really like to make a few bucks off it.
The box is 60" tall, 67" wide, and 120" long. It is just the box filled with something that GRM is likely going to find very interesting and useful!
Edit: will likely come with the stock wheels and newish 912 tires
Where do you pick up the box?
Just as an example, I envision where maybe you tow the Lexus to Georgia (say Atlanta or Albany) and unload then you pick up your 10' box in Nashville.
Still need more details about the car. I may have some spare LS400 parts that I could bring to help out anyone who wanted to buy the car.
The box is going to be picked up in Paint Rock, AL.
What do you want to know about it. It will have welded spiders, zero interior, little to no glass, a crazy paint job (time permitting), and several large holes. It is basically just good as an engine donor or a derby car. I have title but isn't in my name and has a date. I am really just looking to see if anyone wants a 1uz donor for a few hundred dollars.
This looks like your "delivery zone"
The trailer will be happier with a load on it rather than empty all the way.
Yep, right through the heart of cheap car country. I will post up and see how it goes.

I would be interested in the car as a motor donor, but have no interest in the shell.
Assuming, it survives! Lol!!
I am in Albany GA 31721. I probably can't haul it from GVille to Albany (my trailer will be full), but willing to talk if you want to haul to Albany.
Feel free to PM me. I'm not on the board much (or Q45John can contact me again!)
If you end up deciding you want to leave it here in Gainesville, I bet I could find someone to take it off your hands. I know lots of gearheads here, including some Chumps/Lemons guys.
dyintorace - I am happy to leave it where ever. If someone is looking for a chump car, this is likely a good one. See if any of you friends want to leave me a couple of bucks for it.
John - You are like having Mapquest on the forum! Super useful
I have a ton of real work I should be doing but this is more fun.
I have a logistics business so yeah, maps.
I am better with pictures than I am just words
I completely get that, real work is so much work!
A picture is worth a thousand words.

+1. Happy to ask around, once I can show folks what we're talking about.
I will have to dig one up. Might be tonight or tomorrow night
Here is the culprit. My sister took this... So helpful.
That's still better than a Craig's List image

Beware, they're more of a rabbit hole than you realize. Older ones like that tend to need a "fully monty" restoration, not for the faint of heart. Mine's been sitting half-gutted for a couple years now.
If we can't find anyone interested in this, we might try hacking the front half of the car off and taking it home. That would mean we need a good soul in the area to take our leftovers to the scrap yard. Also, a few spare sets of hands to cut and move metal would be welcome.
