Just saying, my car would probably finish 3rd to last, I'm well under 2,000 bucks including tools and there's no way I'd let it go for two grand.

4 glorious years! Thanks for proving my point. I started fresh again last year, 1 down, 3 to go... woof woof

The claim rule has been discussed to death many times. Every single time the board and the higher ups have come to the conclusion that they don't want a claim rule. SVreX was there for pretty much all of those discussions. He's right, there isn't going to be a claim rule.

@#$%#@%^@#$%@#$!
was going to be such a good bribe...
If there was a claim rule I would not enter. I don't plan on cheating, it would just suck to build something and then BAM no car for you.
whoopee, I finally did it. Started a topic that got over 50 replies. Usually my posts don't make it past 20, always wanted one that did.
Not trying to have a rule instituted, just trying to let everyone that doesn't read the 2010 classifieds know that my car is up for sale.
I guess it's kinda like spamming with a twist.
a Nigerian prince told me I had a claim to a large fortune and he just needs my bank account and I am rich...sign me up!!!!

New York or New England? It makes a big difference.
I'm not sure I want to be seen serving New York Clam Chowder for a prize. It's not worth my time.

Manhattan clam chowder = the suck.
Funny... what was to be my $2010 Challenge car, and is now slated for $2011 Challenge car is currently tentatively for sale.
Bidding starts at $2500. Just because i got a great deal on pretty much everything i've bought, including the car itself, and then sank hundreds of hours of my "free" time into it, doesn't mean that i have to sell the car for less than it's worth.
I doubt i'll sell it. I want to see it at $2011. AFTER $2011, i'll sell it for $3500 or so.

Again, read the thread before you post.
NOBODY IS ASKING FOR A CLAIM RULE - ESPECIALLY ME.

Geee-I thought the fact that I have posted in the thread repeatedly might point out to you that I have read the thread. You have argued the merits of a claim rule as has one other poster. Forgive our incredible ignorance for thinking your support of the concept of a claim rule was actually support of the argument FOR a claim rule expressed by another member in this thread. So one person says their should be a claim rule, lots of people say their should be a clam rule, and you argue that claim rules are good because it encourages people to engineer things on a shoestring budget and I apparently misunderstood that as support for a claim rule at the challenge. I think I understand what is being talked about in this thread.

I can't believe you're asking for a claim rule. Hiding under the name nobody is not a good way to protect the identity of the group who brings this idea up each year. We know you want it.
Clam Rule suggestion....I think the team who drives their own car to the quickest A-x time should get a bucket of steamers. I really appreciate there efforts and the lack of laps to "learn" the course through high repetition. Beside Eric Storhok is my Chuck Norris.

Ok, I want to see a team member take FTD in their own car. I've been planning on making a glass thing for that- if it happens, I'll jump back into the studio and make something.
(remember, I made a small cone that was a mess for the best spin a number of years ago....)
Maybe the slowest time of the day should get a bucket o clams, and have to leave them in the car for the whole weekend.
I think Doll Raves should pickup some oysters when she rolls through the Big Easy, and a recipe for Oysters Bienville. The Person who wants to enforce the clam roll has to prepare said Oysters Bienville, and pay for the oysters.
This isn't smack talk... This is what you would hear on the Food Channel or Oprah. Granted most of those coming to the challenge have a better chance of winning an eating contest, but it's good to fill the field and the parking lot.
Ohhhhh the good ole' days of smack talk..... If I had kids, I would have to tell their kids about them days....

And, of course, we all know you are the resident knower of the topical discussions on these type of shows. I think they come on during the day?
