Pictures would generate more interest.

Yep, it's all about the status quo and the creative accounting. Absolutely no creativity is employed in the buying, building and finishing of these cars. That's why we fear a claim rule... we're just imagination-free dicks who like being lied to.
Thanks for clearing that up again this year.
For the rest of you--I mean the ones who "get it" and are coming--can't wait to see what you've built. Also can't wait to spend the weekend in the dick-free zone that is the Challenge, where people seem to genuinely respect and dig each other's efforts, instead of spending their "fun time" trying to get the other guy tossed or screwed out of their hard work because they got beat. (Oh, and sorry about your limp. Rub some dirt on it.)

Heh , heh heh, she said "get it".
Get it?
heh heh, she wants to rub dirt on his limp. Heh heh.
Shuddup.

Is that a new safety rule or something? Not sure I'm that dedicated ...

Geez, why don't you calm down and relax? I realize you own the magazine but could you have a little more cooth and not resort to calling me or anyone else "dicks". Wow. The creative accounting was a phrase noted by someone else in this thread and I merely repeated it.

The claim in Spain falls mostly on the plains
Plance etal. Please understand that we're all busy getting ready for the event. I've discussed this with Margie a
^^^^^That was what Per started to type for me, since I just got here to the Challenge and saw this thread, but can't respond b/c, well, I'm at the Challenge and don't have my computer. I think Per was going to say we're all stressed and that's why I called you a dick, but honestly, I didn't. Call you a dick, I mean. Recheck the thread. I DO think claim rules are dick moves, and said so. You... I don't even know. Nor do I remember being mean to you before. Actually, I don't remember you at all. But I do harbor a deep distaste for claim rules at an event ruled by creativity and sweat labor. Sorry some of it got on you, and you're right... I shouldn't toss around the word "dick" so much. It's unprofessional. Dicklessly yours, Margie

I couldn't love GRM the magazine or the website more, and believe me, I don't like to be the P.C police or anything or the guy who has a problem with everything thing, but I do have a problem with this...
I find it a bit offensive that you use terms like "Claim", "Claimer" etc etc... for your little descriptions or whatever in the Challenge posts. I myself do not have special needs, nor am I a Challenge car builder or stupid enough to piss off the host, but I feel sensitivity for people with special needs as I am a parent of a kid that is obviously smarter than some of the people on this thread, and my Girlfriend is pursuing her masters in the field (just don't tell my wife).
These terms although I'm preety sure are not even real words, are obviously meant to resemble the words used to describe people with circle track and drag cars, and it appears that they are used on these boards in a joking sense which, as I view it, makes light of people who are not cool enough to turn right AND left.
It just dosen't seem right to me, thats all. I know that it's not my message board, and that noone forces me to post here, but all the same, some things are wrong when they really don't need to be.
I'm not on any side here, but judging by the ignorance of some of the responses (I mean that literally, not as an insult), I bet none of the people against claim rules have actually competed in a claimer class or division, and seen how they actually work. They do not stifle creativity, they promote it, and in all the years I ran one of these classes, I can't recall ever seeing a single car claimed. That and you don't actually have to give up the car if you don't want to.
Now, what people need to realize, is that this is an editorial event, the main purpose of which is to provide good stories for the magazine, and a good time for the competitors, so a claim rule would make no difference. There's nothing significant at stake.
Proper spellibng is kooth, and I has none , Taint fer salel. Clam rolls happen at dirt tracks, mongst redneks . irace on pavement cuz folks iz smarter .Apostrophe

I don't see your case. However, my opinion and I'll take heat for it; starting another thread where you publicly blast anyone is dick-like. Sometimes I speed read through these things and get the wrong interpretation, this one I went over pretty well.
Try to adjust your thinking and get used to the idea of no claimer. Like they say; everyone has an opinion ....
