Needs work, obviously, but it could be a great start for an LSx project....

RHD means it could be tough to get (Legally) into the US. It's not federalized or 25yrs old. Maybe if you never plate or title it?

True, but not all challengers are Yanks. Since it's more than 15 years, it's super easy to title.

I've seen enough RHD FDs in the US to think it's not insurmountable.

On the flip side, I haven't met a RHD-car owner who liked RHD in a LHD world for more than the first day.

I've heard this as well....
RHD is still on my list of things to do.
(and I'm close enough to BC that it wouldn't even be that hard)

Never mind all that - buy a wrecked LHD FD RX7 and swap mechanicals over to the straight shell.

If I hadn't promised myself that I wouldn't have multiple projects (working on the 964 right now) - it would already be in my garage with a 5.3, 4L60E, some steel and my MIG welder next to it. I think you could have a driver with a challenge budget - it wouldn't necessarily be pretty.

Just a few mimutes down the road from me. Funny how I missed the RHD bit. Wonder how it came to be in Canada since we drive LHD?

There are loads of RHD cars imported from Japan these days - most are in the GTA, but it's not uncommon to see older Skyline GTR's, Nissan Pulsar GTI-r's etc....all RHD. My 964 was an import from Japan, though it's not RHD.

Have you seen the shell in person? I am pretty curious about it.

If I was sure about getting it on the road here, I'd be VERY VERY tempted to go fetch this, it's close, it's cheap, and I have the spare cash. I'm also concerned about getting it across the border without a full cavity search, LHD would be nice too.
