It's been rebuilt with second oversize pistons, new bearings, high output oil pump, etc. For performance mods it has euro spec GTD injectors, an A4 Jetta TDI variable nozzle VNT 15 turbo blowing through a 944 Turbo intercooler, a long runner GTI gasser intake manifold, and a 2-1/2" stainless exhaust system. Most importantly though, it has an injection pump modified by Giles at Performance Diesel in Markham, Ont. For those who don't know, Giles is sort of the Smokey Yunick of V Dub diesels

I'm thinking one of those mini kegs would make a good home made cool can for your fuel line - Mini Keg - bendable copper line - rubber hose - drain cock for the bottom

Funny you should mention leaking re: that G60 cover --
My son got that for me and it is way cool, but the first couple of times I ran the engine it leaked like a stuck pig.
When I got it I ordered the correct rubber gasket and mounting studs, so I expected no troubles. But when I studied the problem it looked like the collars in the middle of the studs were too think, so they were keeping the gasket from getting the proper "squish factor". The collars measured .085" thick, so I took each one out and turned it down to .04 on the lathe and reinstalled. That took care of it, but it was a real nuisance.

Tools don't count. Beer is definitely a tool used in challenge car construction.
