Just because of the crappy drag times alone your previous winners wouldn't place top 5 now days. Believe me, I know how many times you won. What I said was partly smack, but mostly true. Classics vs minivans man, classics vs minivans.
I know I tend to hang in it the 20s but I am bringing the nicest car I have ever built right now it is at 340 hp but if I can finish turbo setup should be better. 2900 lb car

Get on it Stan-sounds like a monster. Does it look good and turn too?

If so, its got a long way to go to get there.
It should instead of body modifications I went for suspension mods. Nice paint stripped engine bay and painted. WWII paint theme. The only problem is getting the car to hook up, the turb will make it worse I feel.

Dunno about "humorous," but smack talk from the clown is a pre-Challenge tradition. The actual fun comes in beating up on the clown, which always makes me wonder why he initiates this in the first place.
Margie
Joshua, I though I saw a hint of smack but the facts killed it. I guess what you're trying to say is that motorsports series/races stay the same over the years regarding speed/performance. Wow, that's new to me and sad for any series/race that doesn't have something faster the next year. As our MGVC was said to be unfair, I wonder what would have happened in a twin turbo Corvette would have shown up the first couple of years. Not only have the cars pushed the believable limits, so has the paperwork and "shopping." Ooops, disregard what I just said, your comment was probably partly smack. BTW, that was one FAST Minivan, cudos to them!
Stan, good for you! It sounds like I have something close to run with. You have more hp and I have less weight. I have a Wal-Mart shopper theme...
It's British humor...
Margie, bring the whips and chains, this time stainless chains since I didn't get a tetanus shot.
Nonononono, the challenge cars have gotten faster. Did yours?

After looking at the paid entries there doesn't seem to be any stand out car. I guess the guy with the under powered, over rated Energizer bunny is coming from the west coast. But since mpg isn't a Challenge factor, his car won't be either. Then there's Wheels, I'm sure we can expect some 10's in the 1/4 with a car that can't make the turn at the end of the 1/4... Hong gone? Could it be a West Side story year? Is BC and gang coming, just the numbers game could make one of their 2nd's into a 1st; this would be a bad year to miss guys. Gundy always looks great, will that do it??? 19 days and not a clue.
But then there's Uranus....
I won't be winning, about $900 over budget.
Just coming to see how the car compares and have a good time.
Yawn. This thread needs moar Crabill/Mongrelz.

last i heard, the V8 crx is still available.
Actually the last car was about the same speed at half the price. I agree, this thread and the Challenge needs "moar", but Crabhill isn't coming. Anybody hear from the BC gang? Is Joshua going to run more than his mouth? Is the lead sled going to make it to 15 pages before the Challenge???
Afraid I'm mostly running my mouth this year. I guess it's up to you to bring something impressive clown.
As a team we are winners allready , we have been having a blast working on the cars and we have come up with some themes for the cars and have been working on getting them ready . Everyone has been making party plans for the hotel and we are also coming to do this challenge deal . Yes we are in the middle/back of the pack but coming in last you can allways say " I came in last at the 2009 grm challenge but I puked about 1:30 friday/satuday night somewhere in the hotel parking lot man you should seen it "

Maybe if you're an amateur. It's more like "I finished mid pack because I started my car for the first time the night before I left for Florida, and I nearly slept through the drag race because I drank a half gallon of Mike White's whiskey in the hot tub at 5am, after drinking nearly a case of beer." Or maybe that's just me.

Andy's the strong silent type. Watch out. He will surprise everyone.
The clown is strong too, but they make deodorant for that.
Even he, however, will beat me this year, as I will be bringing nothing but a good attitude and a smile. So, I will take my well-earned beating which I am sure is about to come, and stand down.
Kudos to the warriors who make it!
we (team gutty) are bringing two crxs....one is gutty (completely re-done again), one is a complete surprise...you'll all laff and laff
(ps, i'm the big dutch guy that comes along with gutty)
ignore some of our team also...i'm sure they will drink their faces off, and make punns and jabs at hong norr.... we are just so jealous. ...haha
cant WAIT to see all you guys again-adam

Hi Guidipie,
Please help me to remember the facts on this one. I thought the Mega Money Minisaga ran slower than the MGVC and cost 3 times more. Sorry I can't remember the details.
Looking foreward to seeing everyone in 15 days.
OMG Wheels has come up for air!!! Facts... Nissan 343, duh, Minissan (cost 4 times more) never made it as a Challenge car and no I haven't taken it back to a track after I put on the correct carb (no time to go straight)... Soooooo, Wheels are you taking another 5 minutes of prep and making another "rat rod" or are you going to be creative this year? With this small field it could be all you this year!
"The clown is strong too, but they make deodorant for that." Are you saying I smell funny??
well..I'm coming and expect to do a little better than I have in the past....of course I have been working on this one a little longer than I did the last 2.
While all components have been bench tested as independant units, nothing has been run together as a whole yet.
poor clown... he has to go all the way to the west coast to fine someone new to wrestle with.
our Challenge Car starting lineup has been shuffled once again for the 3rd straight week!

Crazy hours. On road again.

Oh ya, that thing. That car did worse each year as the other cars continued to raise the bar. Kind of affirms Joshua statement.
Our junk will be there...Lord willing. You just worry about your own.

You are so totally wrong with this statement << I live in florida

And in our defense we have had the tranny out of the mitsubishee 2 times , we have found that the clutch and pressure plate is wrong . New clutch pack coming in so . And only 2 beers !
