So, I have a pile of cars that I would FMV at scrap value, because that's all they're worth. My question is where would an 88 or 89 Accord that's been chopped up and converted into a truck fit in with the rules? There doesn't seem to be anything in the rules that prohibits something of this nature, but I wanted to see where you guys stood with your understanding of the rules. I know Andy Nelson's VW was highly modified and still ran in the general competition, so that's where I would expect to end up.

You'll have to get around the "all body panels present" rule, but if it's well done, I don't think anyone is going to protest you
Along the same vein, what about a car or truck turned into a convertible? Would it need a roof to run or do the drag rules penalize it enough?
New Challenge rules did away with the "all body parts present" rule. It's now a general appearance rule:
"Cars should have a finished appearance. Use good sense and taste when you modify your car, as missing grilles, headlights, fenders, hoods and the like are generally unattractive. Cars that are ugly will be less likely to be featured in the magazine and other media. Please remove your front license plate and plate holder, as those things are ugly, too.
GRM will provide number panels to all entrants. If you have a theme that doesn’t work with these panels, then concessions can be made. Please discuss with the GRM staff prior to the event.
GRM reserves the rights to require a windshield banner."
