My wife's already texted me asking if she could have one. I wonder what her co-workers at GM would think if/when she pulls up in one.....

That's 17 miles and hour faster then my bloody supercar with a slippery body. Heck that's 2mph faster then my ACR was rated for.
Are these things underrated in terms of power, I fully expect with the times they are putting down for the car to be in the mid 700's at the crank.
The charger is pretty slippery for a boat of a car. Sounds like they've just done what people have been doing since the 6.1 srt8 cars.....displacement, heads, cam, exhaust.
And boost, don't forget boost. Wonder what all those Cherokee people with the 1000hp engines can do with one that's already lightly built.

That's one fast Neon.

Weary gets all the cool toys.
Another thing:
Call me whatever reproductive organ you want, but if I have a car that makes 707 supercharged HP and can go 204mph while seating me and up to four of my friends, I could care less if I'm rowing my own gears. I don't mind having a friendly automatic transmission helping me out with that.

Wait, the hellcat is boosted? Why?
I'm glad they built this. We live in amazing automive times. I was talking to my son about the dark days of my youth (16 in 1991) and how we salivated over any car that made over 200hp. How we went bonkers when the Z06 got 405hp. Now I could go buy a 700hp family sedan.

It's a supercharged 392 with some top end work. All of that is what makes the engine the hellcat. No blower = no hellcat. And probably because the wooshy thing on the top of it made it easier to get 700 hp than going NA.
I so want one. Still not 100% sold on the new front end. I could see me driving the Charger Hellcat and my wife having the Challenger version If I won the lottery that is
The best part is, it really does look sleeper-ish. Remove the badges, paint the wheels silver and the brake calipers black and it would be a serious Q ship. My wife fails to understand my want for one of these, or a Shelby GT500 or a, or a, or a......

For some reason the Challenger struck me as stupid, but four doors makes it massively lulzy. Sorta like a CTSV. Plus i actually REALLY like the way the current Charger looks. It's like when Mazda stuffed the turbo engine in the 3, threw it over the fence and said "let's see what THIS does". I love it when E36 M3 like that happens.
Also see: Toyota X-Runner.
I still wanna meet the guy who got that to go through.

"..... we build Camrys. And small trucks."
"Truck! Thanks! Talk soon!"

You'd be surprised at how little top end work (other than the blower) went into this car. I don't know if I can say more, I was shocked.
