My Prius needs a new battery. It's a odd sized AGM: S46B24R

46 Amp Hour - 325CCA.

The auxillary battery isn't actually used to start the engine, so cranking amps doesn't much matter. It's merely there to fire up all the dash lights, hvac, radio, ecu, etc.

However, that "Amp Hour" rating is important - it needs to hold a steady 12v  or high for an extended period of time, and since a Prius is the car of the future, it also is always "listening" for the key fob proximity. Prius folks believe that the car needs reliable, sustained 30AMPs to get things rolling.

The average battery price for a OEM or similar size ( Group 51 ) is $175-$225.

I'm wondering if there isn't a cheap alternative. Something of similar Ah, even if lower CCA.
