I am trying to see if there is a way to do a really air bag suspension, at least on the rear. My thoughts are air bags ($80 a piece) with schrader valves or something similarly cheap, and 120v 8 gallon air tank (I already have this) in the bed. I would like to make if somewhat slick so I am not opening valves on each bag individually.
I only have a basic understanding of what I just said. I am fully capable of mounting the bags and there is plenty of info on how to do this correctly. I am a little lost on fulling the bags/draining them.
for grm style look into 12v irrigation control valves. one for fill one for release on each bag, but tied together so both fill or release at the same time (more or less). I know they will hold at least 90psi or so. You may want to add small diameter bleed jets so it doesn't drop from full up to full down too quickly.
The dirt cheapest way to do this is to just T the rear air line together. Use push to connect plastic DOT airbrake line connectors and plastic line. It's easiest to cut and get a good seal if you use one of those razor blade cutter pliers. Then you can put two ball valves on the T (or remotely mounted on a line from the T so you can control from in cab/etc.).
One ball valve dumps to atmosphere to lower. The "fill" ball valve connects to your tank to raise.
Are you trying to do front and back? or just rear.

What style suspension would this be? 4 link/ bag on bar?
I had air bags on my KJ for supplemental support when towing.
The lines were "Td" and connected to a single Schrader valve which I mounted by the electric plug.
A remote hook up as suggested above would work. Depends on what you want to do.
I might start in the rear to get a fell for it.

This is a '72 but the suspension should be the same.
