Looking for a cheap floor jack to use on my lowered Miata and lowered A4.
It sucks having to use the scissor jack that came with the car to do any work.
I have a heavy duty floor jack that won't fit under the cars, I also have ramps that work on the Miata, but not the A4. The Audi has way too much front and rear overhang to use the ramps. Plus I find that they are less convenient then a jack and jack stands when working in my garage by my self.
I do have several sets of jack stands and use them.
Anyway, I found a jack on sears.com for $59 that got bad reviews. Harbor freight has one for $130.
I didn't measure the Audi, but I am guessing that I will need it to be under 4" tall. (the cars has a body kit on it that it needs to clear) Weight isn't important, the thing will only be used in the garage. Would prefer a local store or cheap shipping.
thanks,

I have that HF unit. Works fine, but got it on special for something like 70.00.
Use the coupon from the February issue of GRM and get the non-LED jack at Harbor Freight for $59. But buy the extended warranty, too.
More money but the best tool I own:

Drive the car onto cut-up 2x10 boards and then use a regular floor jack.

I have teh harbor Freight one, it has never given me any problems (going on 5 years)
Costco has a model very like the one JB pictured for $99. I was pondering over it this weekend. Oh, and Costco offers a lifetime guarantee on their products.

+1 I didn't need it, the one I bought 5 years ago is still fine, but I figured it was a $59 extended warranty. Don't forget the 20% off coupon, too.
