Unless I missed it: FWD Dsm. They often go much cheaper than their awd brothers, Ive found quiet a few for 1000 or less. Not to mention they are pretty tough and 200hp from the factory, 300 will be very easy to do for another 500$ without much work, maybe less, and dead reliable if you are smart about it.

That's a pretty little engine. Does it sound as good as it looks? Weight? Displacement?
Alfa V6 motors will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. I used to drive through overpasses and such one gear lower than usual just to listen.
As to what they weigh I am not sure but they are all alum. The one pictured is a 3 L but you could get them in 2.5 L in the GTV6 and Milano minus the cool stainless intake runners.
