I need a fan clutch for an e36. OEM is roughly $175. The usual suspects (Pelican, BavAuto, etc.) are $75-100.

Rock Auto lists one for $43. Am I being a cheapskate to consider this?

The 'fan delete mod' isn't an option due to SCCA Street Touring rules.

I've never had a problem with anything I've ordered from them, and I've ordered a lot of stuff, and saved a bunch of money. Don't forget to put in the discount code!

My 540i/6 has some nasty dents in the hood from a fan coming to pieces. (otherwise flawless car) Though, for all I know it may have been the original fan.

I'd be careful with cheap manufacturers.

Not so sure about worrying about cheap manufacturers.. but definatly make sure all your engine and trans mounts are up to spec (also helps keep you from "money $hifting) and might as well do your waterpump while you have the fan off
