Looked at my credit card account today and had a big charge from the gateway grand in Gainesville. I called them, and it sounds like they booked my room for 9/19-9/22 and not 10/19-10/22. Apparently I was unintentionally participating in a miscommunication when I said things like "October" and "Thursday through Sunday" when I originally made the booking over the phone. They were great and fixed me right up of course.

Read your confirmation letters folks! (I just saw I had the email and didn't look further).

Yeah hmmm ... Sorry about that. You can ignore the charges for room damage also.

They had some new help at the front desk who seemed to have trouble booking advanced reservations. She transferred me to the Corporate Sales department, and we played telephone tag for 3 days.  At which point the corporate sales lady said, "I don't know why they couldn't make this reservation for you at the front desk). 

Its Ok. We can do some "Performance Art" on their front lawn!

The GRM staff was less unhappy. I've got a picture of Margie with a sledge hammer in her hand as she takes out the windshield of that car- the look in her eye is rather engaged... devil

i can remember the whole thing that poped up on here about that event.....i was not there in person that year though.
