Here is one I couldn't see coming. The workmanship is impressive but the result ... is surely an acquired taste.

That is awful in every way a thing can be awful. It's probably responsible for the last Indiana Jones movie and Garth Brooks' rock star alter ego Chris Gaines.
This is what a custom Merc of that era should look like:
"hey, I want to build an old-school hotrod. I think I'll use a Chevy Lumina chassis and some of its body panels as a basis."
Said no one ever.
It had the potential to be awesome. It failed miserably.
Reminds me of the family guy/Simpsons crossover. So much potential. So little success.
I suspect that's a Monte Carlo, not a Lumina, but I guess there's no way to know unless you decode the VIN (if you can even find it) and it really doesn't matter since they both have the same wheelbase.

Fixord.
I knew from the title there was no way that turn out well, but that's actually worse than I imagined
I'd seriously buy it if it were 1/5 the price. That would be so miserably awesome to take to Cruisin' the Coast. It really needs some cheap Pep Boys flame decals added to the sides though.
