My girlfriend has the 1.8 in her 2015 cruze and i hate it, it doesn't matter what throttle position you give it it gets the same acceleration (slow) and the MPG is rather average or less than average by the comparable market, also most of the stick 1.8 cruzes are extra base model and DO NOT HAVE CRUISE CONTROL which is stupid for something named cruze and doesn't have cruise control as a standard feature...
the response of the 1.8 is terrible it seems to lug around and not understand varied throttle inputs.

3 years and ~45k miles on a 1.4t/6m Sonic. Bought it with 48k miles, about to roll 95k now.
PCV valve (both, and what a dumb berkeleying design) replaced at 90k. If you do it, buy the aftermarket PCV that you can replace without having to replace the entire intake manifold.
Doesn't get quite the mileage that it should, but 33mpg on 87 octane E15 piss is not bad for the power it has.
Which aftermarket PCV is that? I was ready to make something up in the (likely) even that ours goes bad.
1.4/auto, Averaging 35 MPG in mixed driving, it's not bad, but I drive it pretty hard.
I wish the power was better, and it will be when I tune it, but I mentioned in another thread, I drove a '12 500 Abarth recently and it didn't feel any faster than the Sonic which I'd driven the hour there, and didn't handle nearly as well.
If the hatch was a better looking car I would have one as a project over an Abarth any day
