No bias, no questionable methods, just pure technical, repeatable information. For instance, 2006: Does the Civic get better gas mileage? ABSOLUTELY. With a motor almost .5L smaller and a 5 speed automatic, it friekin' well better. And you'll also pay for it, to the tune of at least $5k here in Canada base model to base model. But the slobalt is faster and cheaper. Which one do you think was bought for daddy's little girl on her 16th birthday?

If you go to 2010, things get even closer. I can get the cobalt for ~$13k out the door (in Canada to boot!) vs ~$20k for the civic. Both are base stripper models with an automatic and thats it. A $20k base civic is pretty close to a lot of other vehicles for $25k that come with lots of options standard if that tickles your fancy.

How do you know for sure that the information there is any better than the site I posted? Really, how do you know? Do you have some kind of insider information? I didn't read a lot of it, but it seemed like it listed "rated" fuel mileage, and the real world mileage was collected from owner experience, just like the site I posted. So how is it more trust worthy?

I never said the Civic was faster or cheaper. I questioned the Cobalt's mileage and reliability compared to the Civic. Nothing you said contradicts that.

BTW, it's pretty short sighted to look only at purchase price. The Civic absolutely kills the Cobalt in resale value. Add lower repair costs, and, idunno, you do the math.

You know, it really seems like a lot of the arguments against my opinion are formed from putting words in my mouth. Maybe if you guys listened to what I say instead of what you think I mean, it would all make more sense. Or not.

In any case, this was a thread about the Cruze, not the Cobalt. I just agreed that the Cobalt needed replacement, and just in case you didn't know it, so did GM. I think I might just be done with this thread.

^i've used the truedelta before... very...umm... interesitng place. Tried giving accurate info on my 02 Elantra. Hard to use, hard to navigate and you get bombarded with spam from the site.

So no, I don't trust anything from there personally.

Repair costs between hondar and GM are noteven close. I sell hondar parts. I buy GM parts. let me say.... WOW.

I've been reading and watching the development of the Cruze. I am new car retarded and don't know anything about them, really, because I'm not in the market for one and don't think I wil be ever. At the same time, I really liked the design of the car from the start.

The only thing I can't stand, and I hated about the Cav, is that freaking cartoonish sized Chevy bowtie on it. Cross referencing the recent thread on the nature of elegance, can't they tone it down a little? It can't cost more to do less, can it?

For that reason alone, I'd rather buy a used but well kept Mercedes 190.
