My brother and I always wanted a CRX convertible. So we made one and then drove it to Miami (from Michigan). It was terrible and also wonderful. We decided more people should have the experience, so we made the
Chop Top Challenge
It is a road rally that is points based (not a race). The points are ridiculous (bonus points for using a minivan or driving it through a carwash). Mostly we just want to have tons of fun.
We are hoping to find some more teams who are excited enough (or dumb enough) to commit to the challenge. The price is $99 to register and we are offering a free gift if you sign up this weekend.
Hope to see some of you April 1.

Sounds like a good time... I wonder what would make the most ridiculous chopped top vehicle?
Here's the fixed link. Looks like a ton of fun.

A chopped top minivan that ended it's journey after the "Chop Top Challenge" at the "$2016 Grassroots Motorsports Challenge"!

The car I am currently working on would ALMOST qualify, but not quite.
Very sad.

Right.
But mine started life as a convertible (even though I am chopping much further).
Hmmmmm, MGB windshields unbolt...
Great idea--great video best of luck

Awsome...
But flimsy, no?
If the windsheild frame remained in place and just the glass was removed would that count? There were a lot of mini truck convertables back in the day. You could run the event without "ruining" your ride. Even though thats sort of the point.

This may be the answer for Andy's Q45.
Big and ridiculous... Check
Should not be a roadster... Check
Already missing its rear window... Check
Room for several people... Check
We need to make this happen

Sign me up for a seat on this ride. Really. Heading from York, PA to the start line in Chicago will require traveling within 8 miles of my house.
Jeremy can fly north, we'll pick him up.
I suspect there could be a rusty 1990 BMW 750iL at the start line too.
I must say, April 1st is pretty optimistic weather wise. Still really cold anywhere nOrth of Tennessee.
Retail of more than $50k gets 500 bonus points. The Q45 and the 750iL both qualify. Heck, the 750iL almost qualifies twice!
V12 in BMW is worth another 200 bonus points!
