A Dodge dealer in business for 87 years in our region of PA got the ax. They are owned by the same family for the whole 87 years. A couple of the mechanics there are in our local Mopar club. They said the owner is going to stay in business even if it means just used cars for now while looking for another, probably foreign franchise.
Meanwhile the dealer where my identity was stolen is still open.
Hey Duke, I didn't want to list the names, but three in DE are done. Two in Dover and one in Newark. I'm not sure if any of our club guys are currently working in any of those shops.

O.K. Thirteen in Georgia. One in the same town I live in, only problem is there isnt a dealer in town. I thought it was maybe an office address but it says dealer address. Anyone know what may be up with that?
Yeah, not that many I recognized in Georgia- I wonder if some of the entries on the list are entities that are Chrysler dealers on paper that have gone under but somehow are still listed as official dealers on the books?
I wonder what criteria was used on who to ax. Doesn't seem to have any logic. Maybe they threw darts at the map.
the Jeep Mazda Mercedes dealer up the road from me lost its Jeep franchise....they sold alot of jeeps...
Just a comment that the posted list does not appear to be all-inclusive. I know of three Jeep dealers here in southwestern Colorado, not on the list, who have been officially informed that they will lose their franchises - in Montrose, Delta and Durango, leaving the closest Jeep dealer to me 100 miles away in Grand Junction. The wierd thing about this is that our area is billed as the "Jeep Capitol of the World" - somewhat optimistically, but the fact is that many thousands of four wheelers come from all over America to drive the Jeep trails here. Also, we average 150 inches of snow here, and half of the vehicles owned by locals are Jeeps (the other half are Subarus). Sure, these dealerships are not the highest volume in the system, but they are really important to the admitted low population density who live here.
No word yet whether the Jeep franchise will move to the local Dodge/Subaru dealer.
Anyhow, an unfortunate decision by bean counters who have no concept of why some smaller dealers are important to an area.
End of vent.
