I'm going. Anyone else have any dastardly plans to attend? This is my co-driver. He mentioned something about previous experience at the Laff-O-Lympics.

Btw - The Sanford and Son truck will be on track for anyone who needs furniture moved from T1 to T5.
Hopefully we will be there in the Flyin' Duece 2 (The Second Movement) Look for a 79 Orange RX-7 with a yellow fender.
Car isn't on the ground and we haven't started it yet. Leaving thursday evening. Pretty much right on schedule.

You'll finish in the top 20!
I checked the list of entrants...it is LONG. This is going to be epic.
As of 1:15 am it is still not starting.
In reply to Greg Voth: Bring it down anyway. A few guys on our team (including me) run a first gen and a second gen in Lemons. We are pretty good with rotaries.
We will be in the 55 white fox body mustang.
Why it no start? Does it have spark?
Its a 5.0 / T5 combo pull out from the brown RX-7 we just ran at Daytona.
Started two weeks ago before pulling it out. Its either the stater or the wiring at this point. Turn the key and it just clicks and will not crank. Seems like a short as the battery cable is getting hot. Battery is not the issue. Wired pretty much the same as the last car.
Sounds like the starter to me. When they're locked up they can draw a LOT of juice in the attempt to get it to turn over. That will heat up a battery cable real quick!
Also check your kill switch. We had one go bad and it acted like a bad starter. The wires would get hot too.
I even had 12v at teh switch when it was on. However, I accidentally jumped accross teh switch with a screwdriver and she fired right up!
I checked teh voltage while cranking across the switch and only had 4 volts on the output.
Jumper the kill switch and see if it works. Hell, jumper the solenoid at the starter and see if it turns over.
Wht happened to the rotary engine that was originally in it?

I wish i could make it seeing as i'm only about an hour from the track but i'll be stuck at work all weekend
Good call on the kill switch. We will have to check it.
Original rotary is sitting in a storage shed. Unknown condition but was reportedly running by pouring gas down the carb a year prior to purchase. The gas tank was super rusty so that was probably the fuel issue. Stored with ATF and Marvel Mystery so it shouldn't be dried out.
I wimped out this year due to last year's heat-a-thon. Since that was my only excuse not to go, of course the weather cools down at the last minute this year. Have fun. You can thank me later.
