Will a D16Y8 intake manifold bolt straight on a Y7? I know the Y8 manifold flows the best of any of the stock manifolds but will add any horsepower? Are there any parts required other then the swaybar to add swaybars to a non-swaybar equipped Civic? I thought I remember reading that the Integra rear control arms were needed. I was considering buying a cheap ebay coilover set and ditching the springs for some better ones. Is this a bad idea?
Yes the intake manifold will bolt straight up, and you'll see a pretty small gain. You'll need the fuel rail and throttle body too at least I'm guessing.
For sway bars you'll need to swap lower control arms if you don't have the factory mounting points on yours. This applies for both front and rear. Another option is buying aftermarket bars from Suspension Techniques, they have bars made specifically to bolt to Civics that had no sway bar from the factory. For the rear they provide a bracket that mounds on the lower shock mount to attach the endlinks. I think the front is the same.
As for ebay coils with switched springs, yes that's a bad idea. One of the problem with the ebay coilovers is the aluminum threaded collars can mushroom and crack.
