Having owned two Honda fits, I can attest to the rear view out the back as comparable to that of a porthole on a sub.

still better than the previous camaro
Everyone likes clean design... and then bitches because cars don't have any personality and all look the same. I guarantee box flares and things like Audi racing Quattros and widebody 911s didn't pull much from the "clean design" book.
Yeah, it's kind of a clown car, but when was the last time a new Honda (besides the trucklet) had 4 pages of discussion on GRM? Looks like that design is working pretty well...

I don't have a problem with a form follows function approach like the widebody 911s and Quattros that you mention, especially with high performance metal. They were shaped that way for a reason but a lot of what's being done now just seems to be overstyled for no reason other than grabbing attention. They'll look outdated and obsolete much sooner than a vehicle with less flare.
I think it's just an issue of compounding. The base model trim levels of cars today all have so many flares, scoops, and fake grilles that the high performance models have to amp it up even more in order to look "racy" enough.
It's childish, obnoxious and ostentatious. I like it.
If I want boring Honda builds boring, as does Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, Ford, Chevy, Audi, Mercedes, VW, Cadillac, Dodge, Chrysler, fiat (and they try not to), ect ect ect.
There is nothing wrong with that car. If it isn't your cup of tea, buy something else. If that is the car you want but something simple like a body kit isn't to your taste. The parts department awaits with smiling faces and the interwebs would be happy to pay you for your take offs.
Seriously, people, we are getting the type R, be happy damn it.

Tie is wrong pattern (paisley or solid with plaid, never pattern. You could have done a texture solid for effect,) for jacket, coat is wrong color for your complexion and jacket is too long for your arms.
I stand by my statement feeling comfortable in your confirmation by picture.
The Focus RS, Golf R, and now this.
After all these years the Civic Type R is coming to the USA! It looks wild (and apparently that styling is polarizing) but the original Type R Civic didn't exactly look subtle.
Now we'll have a most epic hot hatch war in the states and I, for one, am excited.

I don't think the Fit is actually a very good example of poor rear visibility, at least not by modern standards. It's not stellar by any means, but is nothing that has ever crossed my mind to complain about. With the low-profile headrests down it probably has about the best rear view in its class.
One thing I hate about this is that it has 20 inch wheels like it's a GLA45 or something. I like ridiculous looking cars but this thing looks seriously retard levels.

I'm guessing this car is going to be 4th behind the STI and then Subaru is going to release an upgraded STI soon after in fear of this car that doesn't even match it.
Trackmouse wrote: Why are they all locked into fwd. I mean, c'mon.... today's tech makes the "safety" of fwd useless. Switch over to everything being rwd or awd just like BMW and Mercedes.
Because they're Honda. They took a longintudinally mounted V6 with a longitudinally mounted transmission and then ran the power all the way back to the front to power the front wheels. They were 30" and a fidd away from having a RWD sedan and then wussed out.
Honestly, I sometimes wonder if they aren't TRYING to fail with some of this stuff.

Yeah.....I've seen what you find good looking....... I think I'll pass on any aesthetic advice coming from your general direction.

Certainly no more so than what you wrote.
While the wheels may be a little larger than necessary to clear the large track-oriented brakes, it's actually not by an excessive amount in my opinion...So even though it's not my preferred look either, since it serves a reasonably functional purpose I don't really see it as a big deal.

All good points. And as I mentioned before, some designs work better in person. This generation Civic is a pretty darn good-looking car IMO, so I doubt it that they'll bugger it up too much. As for running 400 HP through the front wheels only, my concern is that they'll have to go full-nanny to keep this car manageable for the average driver. Seems an odd choice.

Man, I've heard things about the militarization of police in the US but I'll be extra cautious if I have to drive through NC
